National Opera House welcomes Traces Dancers

Fantastic day at our first ‘Peer to Peer Mentoring Day’ at National Opera House, Wexford with Traces dancers led by our Glór Dance Facilitators, Dee Grant & Rachel Ni Bhraonáin. The young dancers were amazing! They learned how to support each other in class and welcome new people to the group. Fantastic to learn some elements of ‘Lamh’ and we constructed several insightful & funny role-plays together. We designed amazing posters around mentoring and left the venue with plethora of new skills (not to mention Certification of Participation!)
Well done John, Olwyn, Aoife De P, Aoife C, Zoe, Sean and Liam 👏
Many thanks to @nationaloperahouse & @lavistawex for hosting us and giving us great space & such a great lunch.

The event was so successful that we are thinking of making a follow up Stage 2 Mentoring day.
Glór is funded by Creative Ireland and the Creative Youth Nurture Fund (2023-2025)The programme celebrates the voices of seldom heard young people over a long term period.

Funding administered by Down Syndrome Ireland Waterford & South Kilkenny Branch on behalf of Traces.
